New York Ophthalmology: Welcome to Our Family

While we often discuss procedures and answer common eye care questions on this blog, we want to take a moment here to share our story as a practice: From how we began to what makes our patient care outstanding. At New York Ophthalmology, we are proud to provide those looking for an ophthalmologist in New York City or Long Island, we have locations to serve you in Queens, the Bronx, Manhattan or Brooklyn, NY, with exceptional treatment and a personal, passionate approach to eye care.

We treat our patients like family. And our commitment to serving anyone in need of treatment stems from our deep connection to New York and its people.

Our Story

In 2014, our founder and president Dr. Neil S. Patel established New York Ophthalmology on a mission to bring exceptional eye care to NYC. A New York native, Dr. Patel began his education at Columbia University, eventually earning a residency at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary, the oldest and busiest eye hospital in the United States.

When he began his own practice, he eagerly opened locations in the South Bronx, Jackson Heights, Jamaica, Washington Heights and Brooklyn to make sure great eye care was available in every neighborhood. He now oversees a team of ophthalmologists, optometrists, and various specialists who are equally committed to helping people live better lives through eye care.

Our Offices

Our goal at New York Ophthalmology is to create a welcoming atmosphere and provide patients with access to advanced solutions and doctors. We take pride in exceeding patient expectations, whether through our modern facilities, friendly staff members, or comprehensive appointments. We enjoy taking the time to listen to our patients and deliver a positive experience from start to finish.

Our Exceptional Care

Our commitment to patient education and follow-up efforts set us apart. A few of our most popular treatments include:

In addition, our team of doctors addresses issues like dry eyes and allergies performs surgical treatments for some cancers and provides pediatric eye care to children as young as 6 months. We are dedicated to delivering quality treatment—using the best technology and techniques.

Feedback from our patients plays an essential role in our mission to become the best practice possible. By incorporating real patient comments and requests through this questionnaire, we are able to stay in touch with the patient experience and work to consistently improve the care we provide.
