20/20 Vision – It’s NOT What You Think!

Having 20/20 vision does not necessarily mean you have perfect vision. 20/20 vision is a term used to express the clarity or sharpness of vision measured at a distance of 20 feet.

What Does 20/20 Vision Actually Mean?

It means that you can see clearly at 20 feet what should normally be seen at that distance. If you have 20/60 vision, it means that you must be as close as 20 feet to see what a person with normal vision can see at 60 feet.

Why is 20/20 Vision NOT Perfect?

Having 20/20 vision does not mean you have perfect vision, it only refers to the distance from which the vision is examined in relation to the size of the words or letters that can be read from that distance. There are other important aspects of vision that contribute to your overall visual quality, which include peripheral awareness or side vision, eye coordination, depth perception, focusing ability, and color vision.

Aim for 20/20 in 2020 – Early Detection Saves Eyes!

comprehensive eye examination by an ophthalmologist or optometrist can diagnose what is affecting your ability to see well. While glasses or contact lenses might be the solution, you may be suffering from a more serious ocular condition that might need medical therapy, laser, surgery, or other more invasive treatments.  See an eye doctor in 2020 to determine if your vision or vision quality can be improved!
